March 26, 2019 - Traveled to Banff, Canada

We made a ski trip to Banff, Canada again.  This was our 3rd time to ski in Banff.  We were familiar with ski resorts, restaurants and shops there.  It was an easy and enjoyable ski trip.  This time we got the hotel we stayed at our 1st ski trip in Banff.  It had been changed to Elk & Avenue Hotel.  It is the one close to down and it makes everything easier to get around.

After we arrived in Banff, we got ski equipment rentals done immediately.  Then we did shopping on Banff Avenue.  For dinner, we decided to try Maple Leaf which we had a good experience last trip.  However, the service was not good this time, we had to wait for a long time to get our food. We were very disappointed.

March 27, 2019 - Skied in Sunshine Village

We decided to ski in the Sunshine Village on our first day.  It is closer to town, therefore, we want to ski in here first.  The weather was not that great, however, it was manageable.  Since we did not ski in 2018, and we had only one day ski in 2017, therefore, we decided to try easy trails first.  Sunshine’s green trails are not as good as most green trails in the US ski resort.  They are narrower, shorter and with deep slope on one side. Therefore we did quite a few times on Strawberry Express and skied down the Dell Valley Trail.  

After lunch we tried the Wawa Quad lift and ski down Tin Can Valley Trail.  

Later, we just skied all the way down via Banff Ave Trail to the base.  Then we called for the day.

With the disappointing experience we had last night, we went to Earl’s for dinner and had their Earls famous Clam Chowder.  It was very good and the service was great too.

March 28, 2019 - Skied at Lake Louise Ski Resort

It took about one hour shuttle bus ride to Lake Louise Ski Resort. We arrived there early, even before the Gondola was opened.  We skied most via Grizzly Express Lift and skied down Wiwaxy Trail or Cameron’s Way Trial.  

Toward the end of the day, we decided instead of taking the gondola, we want to try to ski all the way down from the top via green trails.  However, somehow we missed a turn and got on blue trails.  It took much longer than we expected to get down to the base.  By the time we were ready to go back, we were on the last shuttle bus from Lake Louise to Banff.  

We decided to have dinner at Tony Roma.  The ribs were good, however, the service was slow again.

March 29, 2019 - Ski in Lake Louise Ski Resort Again

We liked Lake Louise Ski Resort better than Sunshine Village, therefore we went back to Lake Louise Resort again.

In the morning, we tried to figure out what went wrong yesterday afternoon,  Therefore, we tried the same route again.  This time we were more careful and asked for directions and found green trails all the way down.  

After lunch, we did the same trails as yesterday morning and just relax and enjoy the mountain.  At end of the day, Fei decided to take the gondola down and waited for Tony to ski down to the base.

We got back to Banff earlier than yesterday.  We went back to Earl’s for our last dinner of this trip.  We ordered the Clam Chowder again.  For some reason, there were more potato than clams in the chowder comparing with the one we had last night.  However, the services were still good.  We had an enjoyable evening. And it ended our ski trip on good note.

March 30, 2019 - Flew back to US

It was a traveling day.  Nothing special happened, except that we got our Global Entry Interview done at the US Border Control.  The border control agent was very helpful to get our applications approved. It was a nice and convenient experience.
